According
to the study at the University of South
Australia, the answer is sheep shearing,
Most
shearers burned up 5,500 calories every day. Bus drivers used up
only 600 calories a day .
Many shearers move the equivalent of 13 tonnes a day, or 10 hours'
pedalling on an exercise bicycle.
Part
of the reason why the job is so strenuous is the work conditions in the
outback, where the temperature can reach 50 degrees Celsius. |
